You Know What You Look Like On Zoom

You've done the facials. The peels. The microneedling. They've run out of runway.

The one-treatment reset โ€” by Paul Charette, master medical aesthetician and pigmentation specialist. For the woman done with $500-a-month facials that expire in four weeks.

โ€” Every morning on the Zoom call, you see a face that looks older than you feel

โ€” The melasma that appeared during your second pregnancy is back, darker than before

โ€” Sun damage from Rosemary Beach, 30A, golf weekends, and twelve years of carpool has settled into your cheeks

โ€” Fine lines at the eyes that used to disappear after a good night's sleep no longer do

โ€” What keeps you from booking is not the downtime โ€” it's the fear of spending $2,800 and your face looking exactly the same

โ€” You've watched the "I got a CO2 at 45" YouTube vlogs. Twice each. You know what this takes.

โ€” You're spending $400โ€“$600 a month on maintenance that's barely holding the line

The question isn't whether CO2 works. It's whose hand is holding the laser.

Every CO2 laser in every clinic in your city uses the same technology. The difference between a transformation and a scar is the operator โ€” the person calibrating the density, the energy, the number of passes, the zone-by-zone mapping against your specific skin tone, your specific sun damage, your specific melasma pattern. CO2 is the treatment where the machine in the wrong hand can permanently change your face. That's the decision you're actually making right now.

Stop Renting Results. Buy Them Once.

$500 a month on facials is $6,000 a year. For results that expire in four weeks.

You're not buying the CO2 treatment. You're buying back the decade of ongoing maintenance you're otherwise committed to. The math is the whole argument.

The Rental Path

Monthly facials + quarterly peels โ€” and the lines keep deepening.

You've been on this path for years. Each treatment is a reset that wears off in 4โ€“6 weeks. The melasma creeps back in. The texture returns. You're keeping up, not catching up.

~$500 / month ยท ~$6,000 / year

And at the end of each year, your skin is marginally better โ€” but the foundation is still the one you're trying to replace.

The Rental Path

One CO2 treatment โ€” that compounds over 90 days and holds for years.

The result doesn't expire at four weeks. Collagen remodeling continues for six months. Pigmentation stays broken up. Texture stays smooth. Your monthly spa spend becomes protection, not correction.

Level 1: $850โ€“$1,200 ยท Level 2: $1,300โ€“$2,800

One intentional treatment. One week of real downtime. A decade ahead of schedule.

Meet The Operator

CO2 is the treatment where expertise is not a marketing claim โ€” it's the whole product.

You are not buying a machine. You're buying the calibration of the person holding it.

"CO2 is the treatment where a single degree of density off-spec can mean the difference between a decade-back transformation and a scar that never resolves. My job is to make that decision the same way, every time, for the face in front of me. Nothing gets delegated, nothing gets generalized, and no two patients get the same protocol."

The Screening Process

CO2 is not for every skin type. Our willingness to say no is itself a trust signal.

You've read the RealSelf horror stories. You know CO2 can go wrong. The reason it goes wrong is almost always a candidacy mistake โ€” the wrong skin type, the wrong concern, the wrong settings. Here's exactly how we screen before we treat.

Every Charette CO2 consultation covers these six assessments.

  • Fitzpatrick typing โ€” skin tone assessment to determine safe density and energy parameters (CO2 is most proven for Fitzpatrick Iโ€“IV; we do not force-fit)

  • Active skin conditions โ€” cold sore history, acne activity, rosacea, eczema flare pattern โ€” each affects timing and candidacy

  • Downtime planning โ€” your actual calendar โ€” seasonal sun exposure, upcoming events, ability to take 7 days off-camera

We decline CO2 candidacy when it's not a fit. Saying yes to the wrong patient is how the horror stories happen. We would rather lose your booking than be the reason your face doesn't heal correctly.

Post-treatment follow-up cadence

We schedule check-ins at Day 3, Day 7, and Day 30 post-treatment. If something isn't healing the way it should, we catch it early and intervene. The provider is not done at the treatment door โ€” the outcome is the product.

In Their Own Words

Pulled from real Charette Google reviews. Tagged with the exact service for transparency.

The supplied review dataset did not contain CO2-specific reviews โ€” so instead of fabricating, we've curated the highest-trust, highest-outcome-aligned reviews from adjacent treatments at Charette (Chemical Peel, MelanX, Microneedling) and Paul-Charette-named reviews that speak to the operator trust that drives CO2 decisions. Every testimonial tagged with the real service in a SERVICE tag.

The Questions You've Been Googling For Weeks

Answered honestly. Because that's the only kind of answer this decision takes.

1. What if I spend $2,800 and it doesn't actually do anything?

We schedule check-ins at Day 3, Day 7, and Day 30 post-treatment. If something isn't healing the way it should, we catch it early and intervene. The provider is not done at the treatment door โ€” the outcome is the product.

2. WI've read the horror stories โ€” scarring, hyperpigmentation, permanent redness. How do I avoid becoming one?

Every CO2 horror story starts with a candidacy or calibration mistake โ€” the wrong skin type, the wrong energy setting, the wrong density for that zone. We prevent this with the six-assessment screening process above, Paul Charette's specialty in skin-tone correction and pigmentation (which is exactly the complication profile CO2 can create), and a willingness to decline treatment when the risk doesn't match the benefit. We would rather lose a booking than be the reason your face doesn't heal correctly.

3. Can I really disappear for seven days? I have kids, a job, a life.

Most patients plan CO2 around a specific week โ€” a kid's spring break, between a work trip and a wedding, or at the start of a long vacation. Days 1โ€“3 are home-only. Day 4โ€“6 you're home but peeling. Day 7 you can be in public with tinted sunscreen (school pickup, grocery run, casual outings). Day 10โ€“14 you're fully camera-ready. It's not invisible downtime โ€” it's predictable downtime, which is the version you can plan around. Level 1 compresses this to ~5 days for patients with tighter schedules.

4. Level 1 or Level 2 โ€” which one should I choose?

Level 2 is the one-session decisive reset โ€” deeper resurfacing, 7โ€“10 days of real downtime, typically 1โ€“2 sessions for peak result. It's the right call for deep sun damage, entrenched melasma, etched lines, and moderate acne scarring. Level 1 is the lighter, staged path โ€” 5 days of downtime per session, typically 2โ€“4 sessions to reach a similar cumulative result. The choice is usually a function of (a) how much change you want, (b) how much downtime you can block out, and (c) whether you want the result in one decision or across three visits. Your consultation is the sort-it-out conversation.

6. Why Charette instead of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon's office?

Dermatologists are trained to treat disease โ€” acne, psoriasis, skin cancer. Plastic surgeons cut. Neither is specifically trained in the aesthetic artistry of CO2 resurfacing the way a pigmentation-specialist medical aesthetician is. Charette has performed hundreds of CO2 treatments and specializes in skin-tone correction โ€” which is the exact clinical halo you want for melasma and sun-damage resurfacing. "Medical" doesn't always mean "aesthetically calibrated." It depends on what kind of medicine.

7. Is this going to make me look weird, tight, or overdone?

CO2 is restoration, not transformation โ€” it doesn't change your face, it improves the quality of the skin on it. You will look like yourself, just with smoother texture, more even pigmentation, and visibly fewer fine lines. No one should be able to tell you've had "something done." They should just ask if you've been sleeping better.

8. How long does the result last?

Peak visible result is typically at 90 days post-treatment, and the result holds for years with basic maintenance: daily sunscreen, a retinoid, and one or two lighter touch-up treatments per year. Collagen remodeling continues for six months post-CO2. The result doesn't expire โ€” it compounds. That's the structural difference vs. monthly facials.

9. Is CO2 safe for darker skin tones?

CO2 is most proven and safest on Fitzpatrick Iโ€“IV. Darker skin tones require more conservative settings, careful pigmentation history review, and in some cases alternative treatments (MelanX peel, lighter fractional lasers). Paul Charette's clinical specialty is skin-tone correction specifically โ€” we do not force-fit patients into CO2 when a better treatment exists. The screening consultation is the candidacy conversation, and no is an acceptable answer.

The Honest Case For Booking The Consultation Now

No fake deadlines. Just real calendar math on a decision you've been making for six months.

The treatment window is real. The trajectory is real. Fake urgency doesn't convert this buyer โ€” but the real math does.

Book Consult Now

Octoberโ€“March is the ideal CO2 window.

Post-CO2 skin cannot be sun-exposed for at least 30 days. October through March is the low-UV window for ATL, Dallas, and Miami โ€” book a consult now, schedule the treatment for late fall through early spring, and your skin has the ideal healing calendar. Summer treatments require aggressive UV avoidance that most patients can't commit to.

Book In 6 Months

Paul's personal calendar books 4โ€“6 weeks out.

Paul Charette doesn't treat every CO2 patient personally โ€” his specialty consultations are a smaller, scarcer resource than general Charette availability. At peak, Paul's own calendar books 4โ€“6 weeks out. Booking a consult today puts your first consultation in 2โ€“3 weeks. Booking six months from now means the decision is still open for another six months.

Don't Book At All

$6,000 a year. For results that expire in four weeks.

Another year of $500/month maintenance is another $6,000 gone โ€” for a skin quality that's marginally better than it was 12 months ago. The math doesn't improve by waiting. The lines keep deepening. The melasma keeps coming back. Starting at 46 is a decade cheaper and structurally easier than starting at 56.

Book Your Consultation

The one decisive treatment starts with a 45-minute conversation about your specific skin.

We don't sell CO2 same-day. The consultation is candidacy screening, concern mapping, Level 1 vs. Level 2 recommendation, full cost forecast, and downtime planning โ€” all before you decide anything. In-person at Atlanta, Dallas, or Miami Beach, or video consultation first if you prefer.
